We have sourced excellent quality kits for you to assemble and set up under our professional tuition in a dedicated luthiers workshop. An exciting day of instrument building awaits you, where you finish up with a great Banjo that you get to add to (or start) your instrument collection.
Banjo Making Course
WHAT’S INVOLVED
You will learn how to;
-Final prep and sanding of your instrument
-Level and dress the frets
-Apply an Oil finish
-Assemble the body and neck
– Install the tension bar
-Install the lugs
-Attach and tension the drum head
-Install machine heads
-Do a full set up, which includes,
Truss Rod Adjustment
String height/Action adjustments
Setting neck angle
Cutting in the nut
Setting the bridge and intonation
Details
– Our Banjo Making Courses generally run on the third weekend of every second month.
– They are a One Day course usually held on a Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
– There is a maximum of four students per course
– Unfortunately we do not have a left handed banjo model.
– There are hard cases and upgrades available (Gotoh tuners coming soon).
– You need to be 16 years or older to participate. Please see our Terms and Conditions for participating in a course
– No prior experience is necessary, we will guide you through all the steps involved
– The course costs $499 including GST. That one price is the total cost to complete the course. It includes all the materials, consumables, use of all the required tools and the fully guided day of tuition. You get to keep the Banjo you make.
– The Banjo Making Course is seperate to the Electric Guitar Making Course and Cigar Box Making Course. They do not run together and cannot be combined if your friends want to build something else. They have seperate dates.

– The calendar will show up on the next page. Scroll through and choose what date you would like to do the course. The available dates are in green, red dates are fully booked.
– The order will appear in your shopping cart, either continue shopping (for another course or a case) then proceed to the checkout page and complete payment. You can pay securely via credit card, use Paypal Pay in 4 or you can do a bank transfer
– Now you are all booked in to do some banjo building!
Alternatively, if you are purchasing the course as a gift you may find our Gift Voucher useful, as you do not need to select which instrument or the date to purchase a course. It saves you trying to wrangle the info out of them without ruining the surprise. A lovely gift certificate is included that you can present to the recipient on the special day also.
