Custom Vinyl Decal

You can personalise your custom guitar by having a name emblazoned on the headstock. We can create a black vinyl decal in a range of fonts, so you can really personalise your instrument. Please note, we cannot copy any brand names, add symbols, logos or reproduce other fonts other than the ones shown below. Please check your typing as the decal will be as it is typed here. You can use all UPPER CAPS if you want (font 6 is shown in upper caps but can be in either). So please type it exactly how you want it to appear.

The more text you have, the smaller the font will be (15 characters or less is recommended). Decal is approx. 90mm long.

Pickup Upgrades

You can upgrade the pickups on your guitar with the following high quality Gotoh or Wilkinson pickups. The biggest improvement you can make to your guitar's sound is upgrading the pickups, and Gotoh and Wilkinson pickups are highly regarded, top quality products. Please note we do not have upgrades for the RIC and Resonator models at the moment. Please choose the correct pickups for the instrument you are building.

Machine Head Upgrades

Gotoh tuners are well renowned, quality machine heads that stay in tune and have very smooth gears. They are one of the best machine heads available. Make you guitar the best it can be!

Bridge/Tailpiece Upgrades

You can upgrade the bridge and tailpiece on a number of guitar models with these Tune-o-matic Gotoh bridge saddles and tailpieces. Bridge saddles and tailpieces are suitable for the FV, SG, LP and LP Left-handed models. Bridge saddle only for Archtop and RIC models.

Guitar Cases

I loved my entire weekend experience. Nick is very patient (he needed to be with me!) as we worked through all the learning experiences of the process. We had a private session as there were 4 of us and we greatly enjoyed the whole project as a group.
I have a beautiful LP that sounds terrific and I will definitely use it in our band! I documented the time through Facebook and the amount of comments, interest and people wanting to follow up has been enormous!
Thank you, Nick, and WildWood Instruments for a great weekend!!

Thanks Grant. It was great having your group in for the weekend, building guitars. Well done on making a terrific LP. Cheers.

Thanks Nick. I had a great time learning and building with you. My new guitar feels, plays and sounds so much better than I ever expected.

I feel like I understand electric guitars so much better now and feel confident I can do a setup myself now.

Thanks to the other students as well who made the weekend very enjoyable.

I can’t wait to build my next kit guitar

Brilliant weekend @ Wildwood. Did the course in the midst of the pandemic, but we got it done.

Learned a huge amount which I’m about to put into practice with some guitar-building of my own, which was the point of the weekend.

The kit itself isn’t terrific (somewhat heavy and unbalanced – there’s a reason I don’t really like LPs, and shouldn’t have let my wife talk me into building this one :-D, but that wasn’t the point, and by finishing it, putting it together and then setting it up I learned a massive amount.

Thanks again, Nick, a terrific time and a great learning experience.

Had a fantastic weekend Nick. Learned so much and have a guitar that I am proud to show off and play. Your expert tutorledge and patience made the course a joy to do. I now have a greater understanding of how a guitar works and how to set it up. Will be using this newly gained knowledge to do setups and repairs on my other guitars. Also enjoyed the company of the 3 other guys building their guitars. All in all had a great time, and would definitely recommend anyone to do your guitar course. Thanks again Nick.

What a great weekend, nick was an excellent tutor. I walked away with a head full of knowledge and a great guitar to play. Thanks for your patience and expertise. The biggest issue I have now is when to do the course again and what guitar to build.

Thanks Nick, I had a great time building my guitar. I’m so happy with it. It’s given me a great insight into what makes a guitar work, how to adjust it all, and how to thoroughly love the process. I am now thinking of doing more in the field, if I can.
It was a great weekend, and I can recommend it to anyone.
    Thank again,
    Nick

Such a great weekend – completing a guitar from start to finish – with an absolute craftsman – Nick, not me! . I learnt so much about the finer points of adjustments to the fretboard, pickups and more – such that I now have a much better understanding of the electronics how it all works. The build steps involved were so well set out and the workshop is brilliantly set up.. My friends are all amazed at the outcome ( as am I) and my new blue LP ( Rob customised!) sits proudly alongside my classic Les Paul and will be played with joy..

Nck is a great teacher and very patient – so much knowledge to share. Thanks Nick for sharing with me!
    Cheers Rob

It’s pretty cool that you can go into this course with little to no knowledge of guitar building and come away with knowing how to prep, construct, set up and finish a guitar all in a weekend! And you get to keep the guitar you made! Nick is a true craftsman and aims for perfection in everything he does. As for my new guitar, it sits proudly in the corner of my lounge room just looking cool. Quite the talking point. It plays really well and has a really solid feel like an LP should. The binding gives it a great deluxe look as do the fretboard inlays. Thanks Nick!

What a cracker of a weekend. I’ve been playing guitar for over 40 years and leant more on this weekend than ever before. Great guitar selection options. Precise tuition and mentoring. I’ve ended up with a beautiful honey coloured LP. It looks fantastic and has a perfect neck – fret – string set up for me. It plays better than anything I own. I’ve adjusted my 2 other guitars with skills I leant from this course. ( instant improvement)
Great feed back from friends who are very envious.
    Thanks Nick
