Music cannot exist without the gaps or silence in between the notes. These two are intrinsically linked to create the songs that we hear. Whilst the notes get all the credit, it is the rests, dramatic pauses, and contemplative silences that add the emotional landscape to the music. It is the Yin and Yang of music.
