It is a beautifully shaped wooden sculpture that represents a sound wave. It contains thin Blackwood timber that was steam bent into the shape of a sine wave. The same method used to make guitar sides was employed in its construction. A sine wave is a mathematical curve that describes a smooth periodic oscillation, which can represent a sound wave. This sculpture is of one waveform cycle. The spike at the node (centre point) can occur in wave forms, like a surge of power in our AC supply, or pulling the jack out of an amplified guitar. Regardless of its scientific undertones, it is a beautifully shaped work of art.
