Cymbals were created around 5000 years ago, with the advent of the bronze age. The modern day cymbal was created in Constantinople for the Ottoman empire and their armies. These artworks were inspired by the artist’s interpretation of middle eastern patterns and motifs, paying homage to the Turkish cymbal makers and artisans.
