*Please select the Saturday of the Weekend you would like to do the course.

Custom Vinyl Decal

You can personalise your custom guitar by having a name emblazoned on the headstock. We can create a black vinyl decal in a range of fonts, so you can really personalise your instrument. Please note, we cannot copy any brand names, add symbols, logos or reproduce other fonts other than the ones shown below. Please check your typing as the decal will be as it is typed here. You can use all UPPER CAPS if you want (font 6 is shown in upper caps but can be in either). So please type it exactly how you want it to appear.

You need to enter less than 15 characters.

The more text you have, the smaller the font will be (15 characters or less is recommended). Decal is approx. 90mm long.

Guitar Cases

Add a Hard Case to your order to protect your new guitar. The Rectangular Hard Case is suitable for ST, STA, STAL, TL, TLA and RIC models.

Nick Carpenter is at least two things, a hell of a nice bloke, and a hell of a good luthier. AND he is a patient and diligent teacher. He is probably a lot of other things too, but let’s talk about the guitar . . .

I chose to build a T style guitar, and the first point to make is that Nick has selected a very good supplier of the basic kit. It was no Fender, but it was pretty damn good, and it went together with ease, requiring only minor set up adjustments. I upgraded various components and I’m glad I did, but on hearing other participants guitars I suspect that the supplied components are better than I initially expected. That said, mine is awesome.

I didn’t need another guitar, but I’m very glad I have this one now. What I really wanted was to learn how to set up my other guitars, and after this course I am now confident to make all set up adjustments to any (electric) guitar. Prior to the course I was hesitant to even make a truss rod adjustment for fear I didn’t really know what I was doing. No more!

Maximum four participants is perfect, allowing Nick to be there with all. It was also large enough that we were each building a different guitar, allowing us all to observe and learn from each other’s unique challenges. Best of all, it was a hellova fun weekend, after which we all had a cool new guitar, built with our own damn hands! Do it!

Thanks Nick for a great course. Your instruction, patient guidance and workshop were excellent and made for a great couple of days learning and building my new T-style guitar. The guitar has turned out exactly as I’d hoped – it plays and looks great! Thanks again, Rob

I attended a guitar expo in Melbourne some months ago, and saw the Wildwood Instruments stall where I spoke with Nick about this guitar building course held over a weekend, so I booked myself in for the first weekend of July, and glad I did. Always wanted to build my own telecaster, and Nick was helpful in assisting additional parts like an aqua-turquoise pickguard and Fender Tex-Mex pickup set, which fitted smoothly. The guitar turned out great and sounds amazing. Highly recommend this activity.

I always wanted to make a guitar myself.
i found Wildwood Instruments online and booked in with my dad and 2 of his mates.
We had a great weekend and made some amazing feeling and sounding guitars.
Nick was able to support all of us and ensure we were comfortable with each step. I changed the pickups to the upgraded set and added custom writing to the guitar. The upgraded pickups sounded great!
Highly recommend this to anyone interested in woodwork, guitars or electronics

Thanks for your feedback Ben. Your guitar sounded amazing with the upgraded pickups! May it bring you many years of service and enjoyment!

I was pretty nervous about building a guitar – convinced I would be bringing home some bent and twisted pieces of timber.
But it was not to be – the kit is great quality, and under NIck’s patient tutelage got turned into a beautiful bright red Tele.
Even better, Nick walked us through the complete set up process, to ensure that it plays beautifully! And having put it together, I have the confidence to make the sorts of changes electric guitar players are always talking about – swapping components in and out – something I would never have contemplated before.
    Highly recommended…..

I cannot recommend this highly enough. A unique experience with other guitar enthusiasts in a beautiful setting. You’ll learn about making & setting up guitars, pick up some handy woodworking tips, and come out with an awesome-sounding guitar! Nick is a knowledgeable and patient teacher with great passion. Really happy with my new TL – tone, playability, look – this course is a must do!

Beautiful well -weighted instrument with great tone and easy playablity.
The finished result was so amazing and have received great feedback from friends and family on the look and colour I picked.
Neck and body pieces were beautifully shaped.
The weekend course was one of the best things I have ever done!
Informative with the right amount of technical difficulty and space for being creative.
